LEADING THE WORLD IN DEATH & DESTRUCTION - USA #1!!!

Thank God & George W. Bush that we have finally brought stability
to those heathens in the Middle East after centuries of turmoil!

"Extending the war into Iraq would have incurred incalculable human
and political costs. We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad
and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed,
the Arabs deserting in anger and other allies pulling out as well.
Exceeding the U.N.'s mandate would have destroyed the precedent of
international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we
gone the invasion route, the U.S. could still be an occupying power
in a bitterly hostile land."
- George Bush Sr. discussing the Gulf War in Time Magazine, 1998

obviously, that man is not a patriot, he is giving support to the enemy!
When George W. stole the first election, he said "I'm a uniter, not a
divider" well the only thing uniting US is total fear of economic collapse,
which somehow was not a problem under the previous administration.
Stay the course? Now might be a really good time to RISE UP! make a
call, send a letter, get out the wheatpaste & hang a few flyers!
here you go: www.savagesound.com/rummy1.doc - set the margins to 0.1"
Happy Independence Day everyone, if you eat enough hotdogs you can
forget about the future of America for a minute or two!
who needs a Supreme Court when you have NASCAR?

* www.thestar.com - Toronto Star editorial "Bush's war on terror is a colossal failure"

<<< Cost of War in Iraq counter: $179,758,010,634 as of July 10, 2005 >>>

<<< Iraq Body Count: 22,787 civilian deaths (min.) as of July 10, 2005 >>>

- what is our current status in the war on terror, i forget - is it 'tit' or is it 'tat'?
thank goodness that we have wise leaders to prevent an endless cycle of violence....
remember it is our allies, the saudi's, who are perpetrating these attacks - not the
iraqi's or the afghani's - then why aren't we 'promoting' democracy in saudi arabia?
is it because they are such large financial contributors to the bush monarchy?

NEWS, Highlights, Updates & Corrections:

* www.lostiniraq.com  - massachusetts national guard unit blog
i heard back from a guardsman in iraq asking if anyone would be interested in
writing a soundtrack for a video on their web-site, contact me if so inclined

- i saw a 'joke' scrawled on a bathroom wall: "what do you say to a woman with
two black eyes? nothing, you already told her twice"  that is what america means
to the rest of the world - brutal, unapologetic, self-righteous thugs; epitomized
by the appointment of John Bolton to the UN - this individual is the opposite of a
diplomat, and he doesn't even believe in the UN's mission. it is not funny, not
even sad, beyond offensive, just horrific and insulting to anybody with a brain.

NEWS, Highlights, Updates & Corrections:

- New Orleans Musicians' Clinic Emergency Fund at www.swlahec.com

- Saturday's news from a resident inside New Orleans:
"The reports of looting downtown are exaggerated. Yes, they broke into the grocery stores,
drugstores, gas stations, for food, etc. Canal Street had a few hours of thugs doing sports
shops, but all other shops and the ENTIRE French Quarter is safe and untouched. The storm
did glass and roof damage and trees Uptown. The flood did NOT get into the French Quarter,
and along the river to Audubon Park. I stayed and helped and photographed and bicycled
these areas every day.
NO shooters, some idiots, but everyone doing the best to get along and survive. Other
flooded areas, it is very desperate and there are some battles going on, but very isolated.
From Monday to late yesterday
(Friday) there were NO military, Red Cross, FEMA, or anyone
with supplies Downtown. Since early Tuesday, access into New Orleans via the downtown Miss.
River Bridge has been clear to Baton Rouge. Everyone else got in that way, why not the
military? Four hours away by car is Fort Polk, one of the largest bases around.
Please spread the word. Bush and his people have been bad to us."
... information from Chuck Taggart's www.gumbopages.com
- also has a list of area musicians who are known to be safe

Why is the Red Cross not in New Orleans?
"Access to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while
we
(the Red Cross) are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans
against their orders. The State Homeland Security department has requested -- and continues
to request -- that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans following the
hurricane.
(Their reasoning is... ) Our presence would keep people from evacuating and
encourage others to come into the city."
... information from www.redcross.org/faq/0,1096,0_682_4524,00.html#4524   - absolutely incredible

- I wish I had taken a picture, Red Cross personnel in Disaster Relief smocks serving
coffee to the police line at last January's presidential inauguration in Washington DC.
At the time I thought it was funny....

- well now that the poor folk are killed off or dispersed, we can get on with the land grab,
and start throwing more billions at Haliburton! how many more innocent people have to die
before we get rid of these smirking idiots? two category 5 hurricanes hit Cuba in 2004 and
they managed to evacuate millions of people from the storms' path without any lives lost
